Itinerary
Day 1: Guwahati Arrival
Assistance On arrival, and transfer to a private Tea Guest House. Lunch on arrival. Afternoon visit Jorhat for sightseeing and familiarize yourself with the new surroundings. Overnight Jorhat
Day 2: Jorhat-Day Trip to Sibsagar
Today After breakfast,we will go to Sibsagar, the old capital of Ahoms who ruled Assam for 600 years before the arrival of the British into these parts. There are a number of old monuments built by them, the most significant being the huge man made tank "Sibsagar"from which the town has got its name. There is "Rang ghar" the two storied amphitheatre built to enjoy games, sports, dance and music. The other interesting places are "Kareng Ghar", "Talatal Ghar", and "Shiva Dol". Come back to Jorhat and to our Guest House. Overnight Jorhat.
Day 3: Jorhat-Day Trip to Majuli
Visit another cultural place today. After breakfast,proceed to Majuli, the largest river island in the world and the seat of Vaishnava culture in Assam. A short drive from Jorhat and then an hour in the ferry across the Brahmaputra will take us to the island. Overnight Jorhat.
Day 4: Jorhat-Kaziranga
After breakfast,we will be driving down to the Kaziranga National Park, home to the famed one horned Rhino. We can see tea estates along the way. On arrival, check-in toresort. Afternoon jeep safari through the western side of the National Park. Come back to the resort. Dinner around Campfire. Overnight Kaziranga.
Day 5: Kaziranga
Early morning we will see the National Park (eastern side) on elephant back. apart from the Rhino, other species found are the hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. It is a paradise for birds watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. We will return to the resort for breakfast. Afternoon, go inside the Park once again on jeep from another side. Dinner and overnight Kaziranga
Day 6: Kaziranga-Jorhat Airport Tranafer
Today we will come back to Jorhat and proceed to the airport in time to catch the outgoing flight.
